5 Obstacles That Can Complicate Your Free Travel Plans

1. Unrealistic Expectations
Free travel is not often easy or comfortable. You cannot generally expect the same kind of comfort when you are traveling in this manner than if you would be paying your way through. This is one of the reasons why it is not a bad idea to combine free traveling opportunities with paid ones. It all depends on what you want and what you are willing to put up with.

2. Traveling Too Fast
If you are traveling quickly and following a tight schedule this puts you in a position where you have little space and time to discover and choose the best opportunities. It also does not allow you to develop meaningful connections to the people you meet. Free opportunities almost always come by the way of the connections you create with other people.

3. Cities and Northern Climates
This is not always true depending on the situation, but staying in cities will more often than not involve additional expenses not found elsewhere. It can  be more difficult to establish trust with people in the cities than in the country.

Northern climates also pose more of a challenge for free travel. Obviously, it is easier to stay on a beach than in a snowed-in forest if you have little money or equipment.

4. Traveling in Groups
If the needs of more than one or two persons have to be met, free travel can be all the more so challenging. Even regular paid for traveling can be a test for relationships. It is not that you should necessarily travel alone but do give some consideration to this aspect of your project. If you’ve traveled with other people before, you know what we’re talking about. In any case, make sure you can handle traveling by yourself should your group disband.

(It may not be a good idea, of course, to take off alone in certain parts of the world if you do not have much travel experience and even more so if you are a woman… but this is for you to decide.)

5. Putting It Off…
Just do it! There can always be dozens of excuses for not doing anything and certainly it is important to be strategic when planning a free travel but modern life is perfectly designed to have you occupied at anything and everything except what you would most like to do.

Accept that there will be insecurities and risks involved. Accept that you will have to make some sacrifices in order to accomplish your dreams. Accept that you will make some mistakes. And then get on with it and just do it. Travel for free!

  • i’m generally bumping all over the web nearly all of the afternoon therefore I have a propensity to read a good deal, which unfortunately is not generally a beneficial factor as a great number of the internet sites I look at are made up of unnecessary crap copied from various other internet websites a thousand times, but I gotta give you props this blog is truely enjoyable and consists of some original content, for that reason kudos for helping to stop the fad of just simply replicating other people’s sites, in case you ever wanna take up a few hands of myspace poker together just hit me up – you have my e mail :)
